Hi Florita

Was it Joel Makower's green marketing is dead post?: http://www.greenbiz.com/blog/2011/05/16/green-marketing-over-lets-move#comment-19160

Collaborative consumption is using or owning things jointly rather than individually. It's becoming hugely popular: borrowing DVDs via Netflix instead of buying them, using a Zip-car for a few hours without having to own one.

There are real environmental benefits. An individually owned powerdrill gets used for an average of 13 minutes in it's entire life-cycle. And the rest of the time gathering dust in a cupboard. But sites like Streetbank allow neighbours to share their belongings, they get used more, less need to be made, saving resources and money.

Have a look on http://collaborativeconsumption.com/ to find out more, see more case studies etc.

Hope that helps.

Hi Ben,

Saw a post of yours on a green marketing blog. Can you tell me more about collaborative consumerism?

Thanks,
Florita

Hi Ben.

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a Contax T3 and have been doing loads of research. None of it is really recent, but I came across your blog post.

So, what are your initial impressions of the T3?

I'd like to use it as a small, quick alternative to my Leica M6 and Zeiss Biogon 35/f2 lens. From what I can discern, It should do pretty well.

Take care. Feel free to email me privately...I'm not sure when I'll find your blog again.
